Open to all artists residing in the United States.
Gallery Underground, 2120 Crystal Drive, Arlington, VA 22202
February 1 – 26, 2021
Juried by Emily Francisco
2020 was a scary year. But from this comes compelling artwork that also highlights hope. The Arlington Artists Alliance’s juried gallery, Gallery Underground, will feature Dreams and Nightmares from February 1 – 26, 2021, a fascinating all-media national juried exhibition.
Artists were tasked with interpreting the theme, from the beautiful and sublime to the dark and twisted. Juried by DC sculptor Emily Francisco, the works chosen from around the country range from dreamy and figurative abstracts and humorous daydreams, to eerie landscapes and depictions of terrifying, living-nightmare psychotic episodes.
There will be no opening reception due to Covid-19 guidelines, but the work can be seen on the walls of the gallery from 10am-6pm Monday through Friday. Free one-hour parking in Crystal City Shops parking garages; accessible by metro’s Crystal City stop on the Blue Line.
