Out of the Blue
National Juried Show
Dates: July 31-August 25, 2023
First Friday Opening Reception: Friday, August 4, 2023, 5-7pm
Out of the Blue presents a broad theme of artworks open to the artist' interpretation, with ideas ranging everywhere from sky or water scenes, depictions of the unexpected, emergence from melancholy times, or even a departure from the color blue. This year's juror, Susan O'Neill, expressed the challenge in selecting from the impressive artworks that were submitted for the show:
"The strength and creativity of submissions in this body of work were vast, so narrowing the entries to approximately 50 pieces was a difficult task. The variety of interpretations of the theme intrigued and surprised me as I began considering the choices. I was deeply moved by some of the work and intellectually challenged by others."
