I am often surprised by the images and ideas that arise in my art making. I strive to let the images that come to consciousness come alive in the lines, color, and forms that make up a developing work of art. I’ve learned to let the image be what it is, without censoring them, and ultimately enhancing them.
Rusty has been making art non-stop for the past 5 ? years after retiring from a 40 year career in the helping professions. He is a member of the Arlington Artist Alliance, has served on its Board, has a studio at Convergence: A Creative Community of Faith, and lives with Ed, his partner of 28 years. He teaches courses he developed “Mindful Meditation for Enhanced Creativity” and “Image Play” at Convergence. He’s been a member of DRA for the past 5 years. He has developed artist talks on art history and art making, including Van Gogh and Gauguin, monochromatic, and Edgy Art.
