Joseph S. Kieffer

Painting While Listening to Miles is the creation of Joseph “J.” Kieffer, an acrylic and found object artist who is as comfortable with representational as abstract art as well as three dimensional collages.

Having grown up visiting the Smithsonian museums including the National Gallery of Art, J. has had a lifelong passion for art. However, his career as a military officer and attorney limited his involvement with art to buying and selling it until he was able to start studying painting and design twenty years ago.

He has had studios in Asheville, NC and Alexandria, VA and has shown his art at The Art League Gallery and other venues in Alexandria. His artwork has received  honorary mention at The Art League on several occasions. J. also accepts commissions and is willing to work with clients to meet their needs and budget.
