Won Joo Leonard was originally trained in oriental brush painting and
calligraphy. This tradition is reflected in the sure, delicate strokes that
illuminate her landscapes, still lifes, and animal paintings. She shows the
influence of contemporary western art in her free and experimental use of
line and color to express mood. The artist graduated from the Corcoran Shool
of Art and focusing on sumie paintings.
