Ruth Sievers is an oil, acrylic, pastel and collage artist who studied with Joe Shannon at the Corcoran and Diane Tesler at the Art League. Her favorite subjects are people and still life, especially flowers. Her still life work is distinguished by a vibrant sense of color and her portraits by the ability to capture some essence of the subject’s personality in paint. Her collages range from commentary on the political world to fanciful, imagined landscapes.
